New Delhi:With the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sweeping the Delhi Assembly elections with more than 60 seats in the 70-member legislative assembly, followed by Bharatiya Janta Party with nearly seven seats, and Congress drawing a blank, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhash Chopra said that polarisation of votes led to the party's defeat while taking responsibility for the loss.
"I am disappointed, but I bow down to the decision taken by the people of Delhi. We will introspect our defeat. The polarisation of votes has a lot to do with it. I take full responsibility for the loss, " Subhash Chopra told ETV Bharat.
The senior Congress leader added, "there was a time when BJP had only two seats in the Parliament and now it has about 303 seats."
On Congress lacking in putting up a tough fight, Chopra said, "we have tried our best. I don't understand where we were lacking. Since the day I took charge as the DPCC president I have been on the streets. There has to be a reason that people didn't show their love towards us."
