Congress plans aggressive Bengal campaign

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president and state's Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the party will go all out to campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal.

New Delhi:Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president and state's Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the party will go full throttle to campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Oraon said that he has come to the Delhi to meet the high command and submit the report of the party's progress in Jharkhand in the last one year.

"I will submit the report to high command, thereafter, I will be meeting KC Venugopal, the general secretary (organisation) of Congress, to discuss the different roles and responsibilities for the Bengal elections," he said.

On being asked that whether the party is mulling to give Jharkhand's charge to somebody else, to this Oraon said, "Sonia Gandhi is our leader and she has the sole authority to take any such decision. Whosoever becomes the party's president in Jharkhand, he will have my full support."
