New Delhi: Reacting to the row over the credibility of EVMs, senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Congress was just looking for excuses, and would even resort to blaming their own partymen for their loss.
Chouhan said the Congress was looking for excuses Speaking to reporters ahead of the NDA dinner meet, Chouhan said, "They (Congress) are just searching for excuses by visiting the office of the Election Commission of India (ECI). If this does not work, the party will even blame their own partymen like Sam Pitroda or Mani Shankar Aiyar for their defeat, and will safeguard their 'Rajkumar' (Rahul Gandhi)."
Leaders of as many as 22 opposition parties met the Election Commission (EC) earlier today and demanded verification of VVPAT slips of randomly-selected polling stations before the counting of the votes polled in the just-concluded Lok Sabha election begins on May 23.
They also demanded that if any discrepancy is found during VVPAT verification, 100 per cent counting of the paper slips of VVPATs of all polling stations of that particular Assembly segment should be done and compared with the electronic voting machine (EVM) results.
