Bharatpur(Uttar Pradesh): Taking a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said that state government should not indulge in politics over migrant workers and should help in the evacuation of stranded migrant labourers.

Pilot's response comes after Congress leaders staged a protest against Yogi government in Bharatpur. It is to be noted that Yogi govt had alleged that there is a discrepancy in the list of buses submitted to it by the Congress and that the list contained registration number of many two-wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles.

"Buses are lined up at Bharatpur border and everyone can go and check. Earlier, we were not permitted to arrange 1,000 buses for migrants. Now even after getting permission, Yogi-led govt is instructing that buses should be sent to Lucknow", he said when asked about the accusation by UP govt.

He went on to add, "It's disappointing that Yogi govt is politicising the entire matter which people will not forget".

It has become a habit of BJP govt to indulge in petty politics

Expressing a similar view, State Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, "UP and Central govt has failed in their actions. After Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi arranged 1,000 buses for migrants, state govt is asking us to surrender. It has become a habit of BJP govt to indulge in petty politics".

Agreeing with Pilot's statement, the minister added, "Congress has arranged at least 1,000 buses. There are no registration numbers of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the list provided by the Congress".

Khachariyawas added, "Rajasthan is the first state to set up labour camps and arrange buses for workers. We are also arranging for food and other necessary items for the migrants and the entire situation is monitored by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot".

Talking to ETV Bharat, All India Congress Committee Secretary Zubair Khan said, "UP govt is doing cheap politics over migrant workers. We are standing at the border waiting for the state govt to permit us to start movement of the buses towards Noida and Ghaziabad. We are doing it to help the migrant workers at this hour of crisis. If permission is not given, we will be compelled to take strict action".
