New Delhi:After Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister Kamal Nath made "item" remark against a BJP leader Imarti Devi, Congress party, instead of giving a clarification, raised questions on BJP as well as on Devi alleging them of "shedding crocodile tears" and saying "pointless" things to distract people.
While speaking over the matter, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, "The entire nation knows how Shivraj Singh Chouhan's government has 'murdered' the democracy. It is a well known that they have spent Rs 20-50 crores for horse-trading of MLAs but now when these MLAs knew they are losing in the elections so they are getting furious about it, talking pointless things and shedding crocodile tears."
Imarti Devi is Madhya Pradesh's former women and child development minister, who was referred to as "item" by Kamal Nath.
Devi, who had been a member of Congress for nearly 23 years, switched to BJP in March 2020 and now is seeking election from Dabra.
Hitting out at Devi, Supriya Shrinate said, "The truth is that these MLAs, along with BJP, had murdered the democracy and now only pointless things are being said to distract people's attention."
