New Delhi: Congress on Monday said it was not politicising the issue of Bihar floods, instead talking about the "ground realities" there.

Responding to charges levelled by Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey that opposition parties were indulging in "petty politics" over floods in Bihar, Congress' Bihar in-charge Shakti Singh Gohil refuted the charge saying the party was doing its duty.

"There has been massive corruption in Namami Gange project. Pipes were laid but proper alignment was not done of the same and that has resulted in serious problems," he said while talking to the ETV Bharat here.
"Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi could not come out of his house for four days and he was finally taken out by the rescue teams. If this is the situation, one can well imagine the difficulties faced by the common people in the flood-affected areas," he said.

The Congress leader said, "We are not doing any politics. It's the BJP-JD(U) ruling combine in Bihar that does not have the required balance."
