New Delhi: Congress party, on Friday, lashed out at Yogi Adityanath-led state Government for turning Uttar Pradesh into "Apradh Pradesh", while demanding a high-level probe by a sitting judge of Supreme Court in the matter of Vikas Dubey's encounter to know about his political connections.
While Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra shared her video on Twitter, party's chief spokesperson gave a media byte, both stating that the law and order situation of UP has "immensely" deteriorated as a result of which dreaded criminals like Dubey are flourishing in the state.
"The truth about those who nurtured and protected criminals like Vikas Dubey should come out," said Priyanka Gandhi while asserting that justice to the 8 martyred policemen won't be done till then.
Randeep Surjewala also raised various questions over the matter. He asked, "Was Vikas Dubey the coronation of white collar-people and government officials? Did he patronize the people sitting in power? What were the secrets that Vikas Dubey used to highlight the nexus with power? Why was Vikas Dubey not included in the 30 most wanted criminals of the state?"
UP's history-sheeter Vikas Dubey was shot dead, on Friday morning, when he was being brought to Kanpur from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain. As per the Police statement, while being transported, one of the cars in police convoy overturned and taking advantage of the situation, Dubey allegedly attempted to flee, due to which police opened fire.
Citing the entire scene of encounter, Congress Spokesperson raised a series of question, saying, "If he had to run away, then why did he surrendered in Ujjain? Before the encounter, why were the media vehicles running with the convoy being stopped? It was said earlier that Vikas Dubey would be brought by charter plane, then why was this decision got changed? When and how he was shifted to Mahindra TUV300 from an STF safari?"
He further added, "He used to limp due to an iron rod in his leg, so how did he suddenly run away? If he was running then how was he shot at his chest instead of back? Why did the mediapersons not fund any skid mark on the spot, as a mark of accident? What is the reality of this mysterious encounter?"
Congress demanded that an investigation should be conducted under a sitting judge of SC in a limited time to expose the nexus of organized crime and people in governance. "It is a test of CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to show courage to unleash alliances with criminals and white-collar people. This is also the test of his commitment to Rajdharma," said Surjewala.
