New Delhi:Congress leader Meem Afzal on Thursday said that if Union Home Minister Amit Shah recognises those, who were brutally killed in Delhi riots as an Indian citizen, then he must have announced a compensation to the keen of the victims soon after the bloodbath took place which claims lives of more than 54 in the national capital.

Appraising Delhi government for announcing compensation amount of Rs 1 crore to the security personnel who were killed during the riots, the Congress leader said, "Taking the moral responsibility of the mass killing, the Union Home Minister must have resigned on the same day the deadly massacre took place. Despite providing aid to the family members, he is busy in his dirty politics."

After the Supreme Court slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for putting up hoardings naming those accused of violence during protests against the citizenship law Afzal said, "It is an embarrassing moment for the Adityanath-led government. Despite providing aid to the family members, the state government is busy in confiscating the properties of the common people."

The leader further maintained that the 'chronology of action' taken by the government clearly indicates his ideology of 'suppressing a particular religion'.

Reacting on the exit of veteran Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and making a stardom entry in the Saffron party, Afzal said that he could resolve his problem within the party.

"He could resolve all his issues within the party. He could have discussed his problem with the top leaders. After taking a backdoor exit from the party the veteran leader is busy in counting the loopholes in the grand old party. Now, the suggestion of Scindia seems to be of 'no use'", added Afzal.
