New Delhi:The recent decision of the Modi government on the modification of Article 370 has put Congress in a state of dilemma. Disappointed by the biggest defeat so far, the Congress has been looking for opportunities to get back at BJP. But the modification of Article 370 has left them with with a lack of arguments.
Congress ministers Janardan Dwivedi, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Jyotiraditya Sindhia, Dipendra Hooda and Dr Karan Singh Sameer openly defended the modification of Article 370. Some of them even said that the Congress' decision of opposing Article 370 in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha was wrong.
Ghulam Nabi Azad criticised the ministers saying that: "Only people who do not understand Kashmir can say things like these." Presently, his stand on Article 370 is being considered the Congress party's stand.
In the midst of these complications, the party has started processing the theory that the people of the country are supporting Modi government's move on 370, and they should too stand with them, even if they are in the opposition.
On the other hand, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi along with Congress worker Jagdish Sharma are now openly supporting the central government's decision, saying that it is in the interest of the country.
