New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Congress for mocking 'armed forces' after a member of the Pakistan National Assembly said Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was returned as Pakistan feared attack by India.
Reacting to this, Congress asked, "Why Pakistan's issue is always brought up just ahead of any polls?"
Earlier in the day, BJP National President JP Nadda tweeted a video of a Pakistan MP, who was speaking in the national assembly, stating that Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in an important meeting the presence of Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa, had said that if Pakistan did not release Abhinandan India would attack the country at night at 9:00 p.m.
With Congress quick enough to react on this, party's spokesperson Gourav Vallabh said, "Do our news channels lack any such information which BJP Chief has to see on Pakistani news channels? I want to say to him that he should focus on our Parliamentary proceedings rather than focusing on Pakistan's Parliamentary proceedings. But if he has decided to contest elections from Pakistan, then it's a different matter."

Nadda also took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his tweet, saying, "Congress' princeling does not believe anything Indian, be it our Army, our Government, our Citizens. So, here is something from his Most Trusted Nation, Pakistan. Hopefully, now he sees some light."
To this, Gourav Vallabh made a sharp attack on BJP for raising the issues of Pakistan, Kashmir or even communal matters, only when the elections are around the corner.
He asserted, "Why BJP always remembers about Pakistan when elections are around the corner? Don't you have any issue related to the progress of Bihar, as how many people get employed, factories, higher educational institutes were set-up, what preparations were being done before the floods?"

He also asked, "Why Nadda ji never tell us about the reason as who was behind the non-filling of 4.5 lakh Government Job vacancies, why Patna used to become a sea in every monsoon and flood, why 33.9% population of Bihar is under the poverty line as per the Sustainable Development Goal report of Niti Aayog? Does he feel shameful while answering these questions?"
The Congress leader even termed it as "KPK Model" of BJP which means Kashmir, Pakistan, and fight over 'Kabristan vs Shamshan' model. Wing Commander Abhinandan's plane had crossed over to the Pakistani side. He was later released by Pakistan on March 1, 2019.
