Justice Biswanath Somadder has been recommended as the new Chief Justice of Meghalaya High court by the Supreme Court collegium led by the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde.

The acting Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Justice Mohommad Rafiq, has been transferred to the Odisha High court.
