New Delhi:Chief Justice of India SA Bobde on Monday recused himself from hearing the Andhra Pradesh state government's petition challenging the High Court's interim stay order on the formation of three capitals in the state.
Bobde was informed by one of the advocates that his daughter had appeared for one of the parties in the High Court, following which the CJI said he is recusing himself from the hearing.
The matter was adjourned to August 19, when a new constituted bench will conduct the hearing.
Earlier on Friday, the High Court extended till August 27 the status quo on the two new laws that enable the establishment of three new capitals for the state.
