New Delhi: After guiding BJP to a thumping majority in the general election, Amit Shah took oath as the Home Minister, setting the agenda for a renewed push to implement the manifesto promises- annulling Art 370 and reinforcing Border Security.
Shah, the new no.2 at the Modi Cabinet, was welcomed by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, his junior colleagues in the Home Ministry and several other senior home ministry officials.
According to the reports, Shah had a review meeting with the senior home ministry officials.
With the numbers in the parliament, Shah is expected to speed up the rollout of the controversial National Register of Citizens (NRC) and passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
The Home Ministry is also expected to take a strong-arm approach towards annulling the autonomous status of Jammu and Kashmir.
