CISF takes over security of Leh airport

Considering Leh Airport as a hypersensitive air station, paramilitary troops of the CISF took over security duties by deploying 185 personnel under the leadership of Deputy Commandant Sanket Gaikwad.

Leh (Ladakh): The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) took charge of the Leh Airport by deploying 185 personnel under the leadership of Deputy Commandant Sanket Gaikwad to ensure the security of the air station.

CISF Director-General (DG) Rajesh Ranjan and the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh were present during the event.

The CISF Director-General Rajesh Ranjan said, "Leh Airport is considered as hypersensitive air station and to ensure its security CISF has taken charges of the airport. CISF has a total of 349 units across the country so far, including 64 airports."

The DG also said, "Our personnel will continuously guard the Leh Airport shoulder to shoulder."

"The major USP of CISF is that we prefer latest technology to operate our duties. All who have been selected to guard the Leh Airport are physically and mentally fit officials."

The DG also inaugurated the barrack for CISF personnel, besides reviewed the administrative arrangement of the base.
