Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh): At a time when the nation is reeling under the coronavirus crisis, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) Rajni Kushwaha has set an example by helping pregnant woman and completing 23 deliveries alone.
Fighting against all odds, Kushwaha has once again proved that health workers and medical staff are 'Gods in White Coats' who risk their lives to help people in distress.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, the nurse said, "I feel happy when people show faith in my work. Most of the women have sub-health centres in their hometown but still, they approach me. This gives me immense pleasure."
She went on to add, "The rush of the patients started from March 23. There were total 25 cases till June 10 out of which I have completed 23 normal deliveries. Two women were referred to the hospital later."

Seeing her tremendous efforts and hard work, women from the nearby districts also visit Rajni's health centre for their deliveries. Not only Rajni helps women in their childbirth, but she also suggests proper medication and nutritious diets. Her attempt to raise awareness among pregnant women regarding coronavirus has also been lauded.
Asked about house surveys, Kushwaha said, "We do regular house check-ups and surveys of pregnant women. We are in touch with them and also advice them on diets and medicines. I also tell my patients to follow social distancing norms and advice them to take all the precautionary measures."
Rajni has set a milestone by assisting pregnant women in this hour of crisis and her noble gesture has inspired millions.
