Mizo Chelsea Club helps families hit by pandemic

Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club contributed Rs 1,50,000 to 14 families struggling in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The club has been engaged in charity work for many years.

Guwahati:Members of the Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club donated Rs 1,50,000 to 14 families who are facing hardships due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 221 donors contributed to the fund within two weeks. The club has been engaged in charity work for many years.

The Mizo fan club started on November 11, 2011, with the motto “charity in the name of Chelsea FC.” Every year, during Christmas, they organize charity rides collecting cash, food and clothes for orphanages. They also hold AIDS awareness rally, no plastic drive, thrash tag challenge and blood donation throughout the year.

The club’s loyalty and charity work was also recognized by the Chelsea FC and they got featured in Chelsea magazine as well as in Chelsea social media handles. The banner of the Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club was also displayed by Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on September 22, 2019.
