New Delhi: Pakistan has appointed career diplomat Moin-ul-Haq as its new High Commissioner to India to initiate a new process of engagement with India.
In connection with this, Observer Research Foundation's (ORF) Director Prof Harsh V. Pant in conversation with ETV Bharat said, "Firstly, he will have to wait for the new government to settle in and see whether there is any possibility of dialogue between India and Pakistan. He has to establish new channels of communication so dialogues can move forward between both the countries."
When asked what approach should Pakistan's new envoy to India should adopt for engagement, Prof. Pant claimed, "Pakistan has to recognise that it won't be business as usual with India. They have to figure out a way of answering India's concern. One can look today at Pakistan as a country which is under extreme stress. The IMF deal which they signed has generated a lot of controversies. There is a lot of challenges lying ahead of him."
