New Delhi: As India recorded the highest single-day spike of 19,906 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are constantly tracking the surge in the positive cases and are monitoring the situation in the states as well.
Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, G Kishan Reddy said that the Central government is constantly in touch with state governments. "Prime Minister has conducted six meetings with the Chief Ministers till now in order to assess the situation and assure them of all the assistance from the Centre. An adequate number of masks, PPE kits and medicines are being provided to the states. Health officers are also monitoring the rise in COVID-19 infections in all districts."
