Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, MoS, Health, and Family Welfare said that the ministry is scrutinising the developments taking place in the state.

"Our minister, as well as the health department, is keeping a regular watch. We are in touch with the health department in Assam. Also, we are providing all possible help to the Assam government to counter this situation," Chaubey said.

Reports suggest another team of experts from New Delhi is likely to visit Assam to help the state health department.

The Japanese Encephalitis has already claimed more than 50 lives in Assam with the number of patients rising.

Considering the grave situation of the state, Assam Health Ministry has cancelled leaves of all medical staffs until the problem is resolved.
