New Delhi: The Centre informed the Supreme Court on Tuesday that in the matter pertaining to a full refund of air tickets, which were cancelled due to the lockdown imposed in March, a meeting was convened and some solution was found.
The bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan was hearing a petition filed by NGO Pravasi Legal cell which sought a refund of the full amount of the air tickets.
Spicejet had contended before the court that nowhere in the world full amount was being refunded and there was a huge loss which they were going through.
Solicitor General, Tushar Mehta, had said that amount should be refunded and the court had suggested an alternative of giving a credit to the customers for the next two years which they can utilise across all the sectors.
