New Delhi: In a major relaxation of rules for the wards of martyrs who fought terrorism and left-wing extremism, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided the students with the option of changing their examination centres for the upcoming board exams.

According to a circular issued by CBSE exam controller Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, the children of martyrs appearing for class 12 or 10 board examination for the academic year 2019-2020, will be allowed to change their centre within the same city or out of it.

Apart from the above benefit, children of martyrs who had missed their practical examination, will also be given another chance to sit for their exam till April 2.

The board also said that if a child wanted to take the exam in any particular subject later, necessary arrangements will be made.

Students who want to avail these facilities will have to make a request to their school by January 31, which will then be forwarded to the Regional Office.

Pertinently, the board had announced such relaxations for the children of the martyrs of the Pulwama attack last year. This year, it has been extended to all martyrs who fought against Left Wing Extremism and terrorism.

This year, the board examinations for class 10 and 12 students will begin from February 15.
