New Delhi:Hours after a special CBI court acquitted all the 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja told ETV Bharat in an exclusive interview that the verdict will raise many questions related to the constitution and independence of functioning of different institutions like the Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
"The judgement has come as a very big shock. Today's judgement will raise a big question on the Constitution as well as the functioning of government institutions," said Raja.
Raja said that people never expected this kind of verdict.
"Demolition of Babri Masjid was a fact. It took place in public. Evidences were documented and today all accused have been acquired. Then who did this incident," asked Raja who is a former MP.
Referring to the judgement, Raja said, "CBI said it has no strong evidence...what's The efficiency of CBI whereas earlier judgement also referred to the demolition as illegal and criminal act!"
