CBI files supplementary charge sheet against rape case accused Dati Maharaj

A supplementary charge sheet against self-styled Godman Dati Maharaj and his two brothers in Saket court. These four accused were named in the charge sheet of Delhi Police in October 2018. The CBI has named Neetu alias Maa Shraddha and Neema Joshi as accused in the charge sheet based on the victim's statement.

New Delhi: CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet against self-styled Godman Dati Maharaj and his 3 brothers in Saket court. The CBI has included the names of two of Dati Maharaj's brothers Ashok and Arjun in the supplementary charge sheet, while another brother Anil's name has been removed from the list of accused.

The Additional Sessions Judge Vinita Goyal will consider the CBI charge sheet on September 24.

These four accused were named in the charge sheet of Delhi Police in October 2018. The CBI has named Neetu alias Maa Shraddha and Neema Joshi as accused in the charge sheet based on the victim's statement.

Significantly, on 3 October 2018, the Delhi High Court had ordered the rape case against Dati Maharaj and his 3 brothers to be handed over to the CBI.

The Delhi High Court was not satisfied with the Delhi Police's investigation but the CBI could not file a supplementary charge sheet against him even after 15 months.

Later, the High Court handed over the investigation to the CBI and directed to file a supplementary charge sheet in this case.
