New Delhi:After Culcutta HC's direction on Monday to West Bengal government to suspend its media campaigns against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Congress party has also urged the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to remove all the media campaigns.
CAA protest: Congress urges Mamata govt to remove media campaigns While talking to ETV Bharat on this, Senior Congress leader P. L. Punia said that West Bengal government should follow the HC's order and as soon as possible it should remove the media advertisements. But the steps that are being taken by the central government must be opposed.
He further said, "opposition parties, as well as the NDA allies, mount opposition to CAA and NRC. The Chief Minister of different states has made it clear that they will not allow NRC to be implemented in their respective states. Now, we can see that the whole nation is protesting against it."
It is to be noted that the CM Mamata Banerjee had also written to the leaders of the opposition parties to come together and protest against the CAA and NRC.
The central government is constantly attacking opposition parties for the protests going on all over the country against CAA and NRC. The government is saying that especially the Congress party is trying to polarize the issue.
Responding to BJP's claim, P. L. Punia said that everyone knows as who tries to polarize the country in the name of religion. The BJP government can discuss everything except the real issues of this country. Everyone knows who polarizes the country by discussing NRC nationalism and the temple of Ayodhya.
