Guwahati (Assam):A young classical dancer on Sunday lost her life in a landslide in Assam's Guwahati.
The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Bodo from Kharghuli area of the city.
The accident occurred when Bodo was inside her room and a big chunk of loose land from a nearby hillock engulfed her house.
Budding classical dancer dies in landslide in Assam An undergraduate student of a city college, Bodo was a budding dancer and had performed across the country. She was scheduled to perform in London in a few months.
The incessant rains in Assam have triggered several landslides across the state claiming several lives.
Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam worsened on Saturday with two more people losing their lives due to the deluge, which has affected over 4.6 lakh people across 21 districts, officials said.

The two deaths were reported at Balijana and Matia in Goalpara district due to flood waters, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said in its daily bulletin.
The death toll in this year's floods in the state has gone up to 18.
