New Delhi: The Supreme Court today directed the Central Government to "find out a way of bringing back" Indians stranded in Kuwait.

The bench comprising of Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice MR Shah was hearing a plea pertaining to the repatriation of Indians stuck abroad amid the COVID-19 crisis. With International flights grounded in Kuwait, only government intervention could help bring back Indians, mostly blue-collar workers, stuck in Kuwait.

The court asked the government to expedite moves to ensure the repatriation of stranded individuals.

There are around 30,000 Indians stranded in Kuwait.

The court adjourned the matter for hearing after 4 weeks.
