Taj Mahal visitors hit by bulk booking of tickets

Advance online ticket booking has turned out to be a problem for many as reports speak of bulk booking to be apparently sold on the black market. Over 5000 tourists can book tickets in a day under the Covid protocol.

Agra:As Covid-19 restrictions are eased people have started visiting the Taj Mahal, contrastingly, not all who wish to visit the Taj Mahal are able to fulfil it.

Advance online ticket booking has turned out to be a problem for many as reports speak of bulk booking to be apparently sold on the black market.

Over 5000 tourists can book tickets in a day under the Covid protocol. Sources said that an unusual trend of ticket booking was witnessed from November 15.

Now, tickets are booked in bulk on a daily basis. Earlier, the trend was witnessed in booking afternoon slots on weekends.

Even though only 3983 tourists visited the Taj Mahal on Saturday, many had returned disappointed.

Despite complaining, there was no action.

Superintending ArchaeologistVasant Kumar Swarnakar said that tourists should book tickets before 7 days.

Complainants have sent a letter to the Taj Mahal headquarters to increase the capping system.
