New Delhi: In view of the claims that a five-feet Shivaling, broken idols of gods and goddesses, seven pillars of black touchstone and six pillars of red sandstone have been discovered at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya, the BJP on Thursday said that its stand on the issue has been "approved" by the new discoveries.

The BJP leader also used the opportunity to slam the Congress, saying it was now the grand old party to "think" as it used to say there was no Ram temple and Ram himself was a mythological figure.
"Now the Congress would have to face it as it's all in the open and only people would decide (what is right and what is not)," he said.
Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which has been set up to oversee the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, has tweeted that several broken statues of Hindu gods and goddesses have been found at the temple site where levelling operations are underway.
"During the excavation, a 5-ft Shivling, pillars and broken idols of have also been discovered," the tweet said.
Trust General Secretary Champat Rai said the recovery further established the fact that temple existed at the site.
