New Delhi:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its election manifesto on Thursday for the Bihar assembly elections and stirring the hornet's nest announced to give Corona vaccine for free whenever it is discovered. A political storm has arisen over the statement with the matter reaching the Election Commission (EC).

Social activist Saket Gokhale has complained against BJP to the EC alleging that the central government has misused its power. It has been said in the complaint that the whole country has the right to the corona vaccine and it cannot be announced for free during elections. This is an inappropriate attempt to woo voters and by doing so, BJP has violated the code of conduct.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while releasing the BJP's manifesto in Patna and announced to give Corona vaccine to all Biharis for free on Thursday.

Questions are now being asked that while the BJP has not given any clarity as to when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available and will it cost something or will be for free, the party should not have announced anything related to it in an election campaign.

The BJP has said in its resolution letter that as soon as the ICMR approves the vaccine for Corona vaccine, it will be made available to all the people of Bihar for free.

Taunting about the comment as another false promise, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that the Government of India has announced a strategy against Covid. He asked the BJP to make public the details of the state-wise election dates and accordingly when the vaccines will be available.

Tejashwi Yadav, the grand alliance's chief ministerial contender has also strongly criticized the BJP's announcement. He said that the corona vaccine belongs to the country and not to the BJP. The political use of the vaccine shows that they have no choice but to sell their fear of disease and death! Bihari is self-respecting, does not sell his children's future in a small amount.

In the Bihar elections, there has been talking of giving free corona vaccine to Biharis by BJP, Shiv Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi has tweeted on this assurance of BJP. The vaccine has not come so far, but it has definitely become a part of the electoral junctions. Shouldn't the responsibility of the central government be the same for the people of all the states? Tejashwi asked.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has also taunted the Bharatiya Janata Party's manifesto. Chief Minister Baghel has tweeted that the NDA manifesto talks about free vaccines for the people of Bihar. This is an election promise of BJP and JDU.

The Chief Minister has also written that with this election promise, BJP has also indicated that citizens of other states where elections are not going on, will have to pay for the vaccine.
