Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Hitting out at Bharatiya Janta Party's Gopal Bhargav, serving as the Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Tuesday issued a letter and mocked him for being "unaware" of the welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government in the state.
The letter issued by Nath reads, "after coming to power on December 17, 2018, our government started working for the public and several decisions were taken in their interest. Within 73 days, we have completed 85 promises. The most important decision was to waive off farmers' loan."
"We waived off loans of 21 lakh farmers, despite the fact that your government left empty coffers for us. However, you seem unaware of all this," Kamal Nath said in a letter to Bhargav," the letter reads further.
Nath's move has come in the backdrop of an appeal made by Bhargav to Governor Anandiben Patel seeking a special assembly session to discuss "urgent issues of welfare schemes" claiming that the schemes have been withdrawn since the Congress government took over last year.
Accusing the BJP of creating confusion among farmers over gram and wheat procurement as well as their payments, Nath said his government has been offering bonus on wheat and timely payments under Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.
