New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned to educate and aware the farmers on the new agri-sector farm bills. The party is taking up measures like press conferences, 'chaupals' and 'Jan Sampark' in which senior, block and district level leaders are participating.

Following this, the party is planning to dedicate December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to farmers. BJP is taking steps to ensure that programmes of government's farmer welfare policies would be organised in various places.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also speak on the issue of farm laws on the day.

Sources said that the party is preparing a draft of all the farmer welfare measures taken by the NDA government during their regime. The government has taken several welfare measures for farmers including Kisan Samman Nidhi and neem-coating of urea.

Welfare schemes have been launched by the government to counter the claim of opposition parties who have claimed that these laws are death warrants for farmers and will leave them at the mercy of corporates.

"What could be a better day to dedicate to farmers than birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The government has taken several welfare measures for farmers including Kisan Samman Nidhi and neem-coating of urea. If the PM speaks to the people directly, the message will reach the masses," party sources said.

The message delivered on the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee will impact a large number of farmers. The Prime Minister has on different occasions spoken in favour of the three farm laws and how they would change the lives of farmers in the coming years.

The Supreme Court is hearing pleas about farmers agitation. It asked the Central government on Thursday to explore the possibility of putting on hold the three farm laws, against which farmers are protesting at different borders of the national capital.

However, sources have claimed that the government wants to implement the laws at any cost but with the consent of the farmers. The party has also sought suggestions from agricultural experts and economic advisors and has formed a panel to discuss the deadlock between the government and farmers.
