New Delhi: Slamming the Congress for "creating panic" in India by raising "senseless questions", the BJP on Friday said the central government was doing everything possible to deal with the coronavirus situation in the country whereas grand old party was nowhere to be seen helping people.

In a video message here, BJP national spokesperson Sudesh Verma said Congress MP Rahul Gandhi would raise all sorts of questions and create panic in the country without letting the country know what his party was doing to help the poor during these difficult times.

"The government has given a big package to help poor and other badly affected people due to coronavirus-induced lockdown," he said, adding that the government was aware of the situation and trying its best to deal with it.

"Rahul Gandhi must tell what the Congress was doing," he asked.

The BJP leader also raised the question on Maharashtra government over the train accident wherein 16 labourers were run over by a goods train.

"Where are people who would praise the Maharashtra government, saying it has been good," Verma said.

"Why did the state government let the workers go on to the railway tracks. It is directly responsible for those deaths," he said.
