Ranchi: Jharkhand BJP on Saturday sought the resignation of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in an alleged rape complaint filed against him in Mumbai in 2013. The party has also sought a Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) probe into the entire case.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi told ETV Bharat, " Chief Minister Hemant Soren should resign on moral grounds. We have also recommended a CBI probe. A complaint was filed at the Bandra police station in which Hemant Soren was accused of rape charges. It is a serious charge."
Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in Jharkhand High Court alleging that a conspiracy is going on to destabilise the democratically elected Hemant Soren government. The PIL has named BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, BJP state president Deepak Prakash, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das and others as defendants in the case. It has been stated in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that the charges being levelled against Hemant Soren are of the year 2013 and a conspiracy is being hatched to demolish the government by making the alleged case an issue after seven years.
The National Commission for Women has sought a detailed action taken report (ACT) from Maharashtra DGP, demanding full details of the action taken so far.
