New Delhi: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MPs on Sunday staged a protest in the Parliament over the current law and order situation in West Bengal.
West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh and party MP Locket Chatterjee participated in the protest.
During the protest, MPs raised slogans like, "Save Bengal, Save Democracy", "Stop the killing of BJP workers in West Bengal", and "Reject TMC, Save Bengal".
Holding placards in their hands, the lawmakers raised slogans -- "No more atrocities of TMC", "Justice for BJP martyrs", "Stop Islamic Terrorism", and "Stop Political Terrorism".

This comes a day after several BJP activists were injured here on Friday after a demonstration by the saffron party workers over alleged worsening law and order situation in the state turned violent following a scuffle with the police in Siliguri. The police said that permission was granted for submitting a memorandum and not for any demonstration.

West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar, a major critic of the TMC govt, also launched a scathing attack of the state govt two days back. Dhankar said that West Bengal has become home to illegal bomb-making.

The governor alleged that policemen in the state are being made to perform political work by their seniors who are in decision-making positions in the force. Dhankhar said that democracy in Bengal is now under threat and human rights are being violated.

BJP has accused TMC of indulging in political killings in the state. Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya had accused the TMC government in West Bengal of working for the benefit of the 30 per cent population of the state, who belong to the minority community. He had also alleged the state administration tries to create obstacles for any programme or ritual related to Hinduism.
