New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched a mega public awareness drive, 'Janjagran Abhiyan', to reach out to the masses to outline the government's decision to modify article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which scrapped its special status and further bifurcated it into two separate Union Territories (UTs) of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Under the 'Janjagran Abhiyan', BJP will conduct 370 public meetings at 35 cities of the country.
"Earlier Jammu and Kashmir used to have its own constitution which restricted the Indian government to impose some of the laws strictly. Some people were taking advantage to this situation," said Baijayant Panda, senior BJP leader.
