New Delhi:The centre's decision to send an interministerial central team (IMCT) team to some of the non-BJP ruled states, in order to assess the situation related to COVID-19 management, has triggered a big row, with the Congress leader Ahmed Patel questioned the need for such a delegation.
Taking a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Patel said, "Why they are not sending such delegations to the BJP ruled states. Gujarat is a hometown of Shah. He must send the delegation to his hometown at priority basis."
Further, the Congress leader took to the micro-blogging site on Tuesday to kick out at the centre and wrote, " Given that rising cases & lockdown violations were criteria for sending Central teams to states, I request Amitbhai to deploy similar teams to Gujarat. This exercise shouldn’t be limited to selective states, all affected states must benefit from constructive inputs of Central Govt."
Following which BJP national spokesperson Vijay Sonkar Shastri said that at the time of COVID-19 outbreak, it is the prime duty of the Congress leader to cooperate with the centre.
