New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday denounced the BJP, saying leaders of the saffron party cannot complete their statements without mentioning the names of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Khurshid had reportedly said that the Congress was unlikely to win polls in the two states where elections are due on October 21. He also had raised the issue of former party president going on foreign trips when the party needs him the most.
"He (Khurshid) should not have made such an emotional comment," Alvi said, adding that Congress was fully prepared to contest elections in Haryana and Maharashtra.
"They (BJP leaders) can't finish their statements without naming Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi," Alvi added.
Earlier in the day, reacting to Khurshid's comment, the BJP had said that Rahul Gandhi must leave politics as he doesn't seem to be interested in serving the people of the country.
