Chapra: The politics in Amnor assembly seat under Bihar’s Chapra district has taken a stormy turn after the BJP denied ticket to the party’s sitting MLA Shatrughan Tiwari alias 'Chokar Baba'. Anguished Tiwari has expressed displeasure and vowed not to eat grains but only fruits throughout his life.

Irked BJP MLA has also written a letter to the national party president where he has accused the state leaders of indulging in political gimmicks and vendetta in the distribution of the tickets. He also claimed that the party gave the ticket to someone whom he had defeated in the last assembly elections.

However, this is not the first time that party has not given a ticket to incumbent MLA to please its turncoat. In fact, many times the parties have to sacrifice their traditional seats to accommodate the demand of allies.

Tiwari said, "I am a sitting MLA and I was busy preparing for the election. During floods, I helped the people round the clock by setting up community kitchens and providing them food in the time of distress.

Upset over the denial of the ticket, Chokar Baba said that he will give up the worldly pleasures and live the life of a monk. The leader said that he will organise only peaceful protests.

Calling service to the public his ultimate duty, the leader added, "Amnor is my birthplace and I have to ensure development in my place. I will contest the assembly elections from my native place but the final call will be taken by the public."

Accusing BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy of his loss of ticket, Chokar Baba said, "I lost my ticket because Rudy indulged in petty politics. It is because of him that BJP gave the ticket to former JD(U) MLA Krishna Singh. Even leaders like Mangal Pandey and Sushil Modi are scared of my increasing popularity in the area."

Bihar assembly elections will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7. The counting of votes will take place on November 10.

Meanwhile, death of Union Minister and LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan has added a new twist to the state elections. Political experts have predicted that Chirag Paswan, son of Ram Vilas Paswan, will be able to consolidate Dalit vote banks and sympathy votes following his father's demise.
