Bihar: Mob lynching on child-lifting suspicion

A case of mob lynching has been reported from Bihar, where four people including a child have been injured after being attacked by a group on the suspicion of being a child lifter. The victims were rushed to the nearby hospital, where their condition has been stated to be critical.

Gaya:Four people including an eight-year-old child were severely injured after being attacked by a group in Bihar's Gaya district on the suspicion of being a child lifter, on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Md. Kaiser, Md. Liaquat, Md Goldi, along with an eight-year-old boy, Ayaan who was travelling by car to Takiya Village of Tanakuppa police station area to their relative's house.

When they reached Meher village, a large group gathered around and started pelting stones on them. Seeing the mob, the driver accelerated the car, but by then the villagers caught him and started to thrash him.

Witnessing the child, the villagers mistook them to be child-lifters.

The villagers thrashed the victims with sticks and stones.

Police rushed to the spot on receiving the information about the matter and brought the situation under control.

The victims were rushed to the nearby hospital, where their condition has been stated to be critical.
