Bihar jail delivers six execution ropes to Tihar

The Buxar Central jail has delivered six out of 10 execution ropes to Tihar Jail in New Delhi on Wednesday. It has also triggered speculations that these execution ropes might be meant for the 2012 Nirbhaya rape case convicts.

Bihar:The Buxar Central jail in Bihar which specialises in manufacturing execution ropes has dispatched six out of 10 ropes to Tihar Jail in New Delhi on Wednesday. The Buxar jail received instructions from the prison directorate to keep 10 ropes ready by December 14.

According to sources, one execution rope has cost Rs 2,140 which was paid by Tihar Jail Superintendent.

The Buxar central jail had earlier supplied the hanging rope for the execution of Afzal Guru, the prime accused in the 2001 Parliament attack case. He was hanged to death on February 9, 2013.

It has also triggered speculations that these execution ropes might be meant for the 2012 Nirbhaya rape case convicts.
