New Delhi:Expressing deep concern over the deaths of more than 170 children in Bihar due to 'Chamki' fever, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Bihar government on Monday seeking a report regarding the matter within 7 days.
Apart from issuing orders to the state government, the apex court has also asked the Centre for a detailed report of the measures being taken towards prevention of the disease. The report will also discuss various steps taken for the treatment and cure of the patients.
Extending his support to Supreme Court's order, Janata Dal-United Chief General Secretary KC Tyagi said that the party welcomed the concerns of the court and the state government would fully cooperate with the probe.
He said that better facilities for the treatment of children are being given in Bihar, the Bihar Government is raising whatever is possible, hoping that whatever the current situation is going to be overcome
