Patna: Former Member of Parliament(MP) Lovely Anand, wife of former Bihar MP Anand Mohan and her son Chetan Anand joined Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) in Patna today. Lovely and her son met RJD chief Tejashwi Prasad at his official residence. The ruling and opposition in Bihar have not taken a final call on the seat-sharing formula and are locked in hard negotiations.

Both the newly inducted members took oath in the presence of RJD President Jagdanand Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Lovely Anand said, "Nitish government has betrayed us and Anand Singh is still lodged in jail. The CM has promised us that he would help us but he turned a deaf ear. In Lok Sabha elections, we had extended support to NDA government but this time we want that Nitish government should be voted out of power.

Chetan Anand said, "Our family is also experiencing the same pain as the Yadav family is going through. We understand each other's sorrow. We will fight together and we are determined to win the elections. Nitish government will be thrown out of power this year, we are sure."

Anand Singh is facing life imprisonment on murder charges of IAS officer GM Krishnaiyya.

Voting for Bihar assembly elections will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7 in one of the biggest elections globally during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by counting of votes on November 10.

Meanwhile, in a big political development, RJD has refused to yield more than 60 seats to Congress creating a major turf. The RSLP has already joined NDA after stating 'lack of co-ordination and no clearance on seat-sharing in RJD. Reports are also rife that Mukesh Sahni's VIP will also exit the opposition alliance.
