New Delhi: Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi on Wednesday met President Ram Nath Kovind, first time after the NDA government formation in the state. In a 30-minute courtesy meeting, the leaders also discussed the various developmental works going on in Bihar.
Taking it to Twitter, Tarkishore Prasad wrote, "Today me and Renu Devi met President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. We also gifted him Renu Devi's books 'Maila Aanchal' and 'Parti Parikatha'. We also discussed the developmental work going on in the state."
Renu Devi wrote, "Had a meeting with President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind with Tarkishore Prasad."
The deputy CMs also met Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani and shared the information on their respective Twitter handles. According to sources, Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi may also meet BJP National President Jay Prakash Nadda today in the evening at his residence. Prasad and Devi will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. The leaders are likely to discuss on how to run the present government and BJP leaders who will get important posts in Bihar.
The expansion of Bihar cabinet is likely to happen soon and discussions on that will also take place in meeting with Nadda. Tarkishore Prasad looks after Finance, Urban Development in the state cabinet and Renu Devi heads Panchayati Raj and Backward Caste Upliftment and Industry.
