Bengaluru cops make Rs 4.4 cr in fines in a week

Over one lakh traffic violations recorded in Bengaluru in a week. There were 1,06,907 cases concerning violations of traffic rules. The violations fetched cops a total of Rs 4.4 crore in fines.

Bengaluru: Traffic police are keenly monitoring traffic rule violators. Since the Covid pandemic began, police are being more alert and fining those who violate covid safety rules as well as traffic rules.

Since 11th of this month to 17th, the cops recorded 1,06,907 cases concerning violations of traffic rules. To top it all, the total fine collected in these cases is Rs 4,44,70,600 crores.

The cops filed 52 cases pertaining to fast driving which fetched them Rs. 15,600. Five drunken driving cases were filed. 29 cases were filed against violators whose vehicles were making noise above permissible levels making the police Rs. 13,500. The cops filed 1,402 no parking cases getting them Rs. 13,71,000 in fines. 2843 cases were filed against people using mobile phones on the road fetching police Rs. 19,22,900 in fines.

The cops filed 643 cases against those riding triple and made Rs 1,26,800 from fines. Finally, 5127 driving without seatbelt cases fetched the cops a handsome Rs. 28,40,300 in fines.
