Begusarai: The showdown for the Bihar Assembly elections has started and the political battlefield has started heating up. Various political parties are engaged in a war of words while addressing public meetings.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in an indirect attack on the RJD Chief Tejashwi Yadav, said, "Ask your father or mother if they (Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi) built any schools or colleges when they were given the chance."
Kumar was addressing a rally in Begusarai when he fired fresh potshots at the Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate.
He went on to say, "People who were given the opportunity to govern the state did nothing. What did they do? He made ill-gotten money, went to jail (referring to Lalu Yadav) and made his wife sit on the chair( referring to Rabri Devi). This is happening in Bihar. But today, under my government, if there is anyone who does anything wrong... any man who breaks the law... he will go straight inside (to jail)," Mr Kumar declared.
Nitish Kumar also addressed a rally at Sahebpur Kamal assembly constituency where he was canvassing for JD(U) candidate Shashi Kumar. Leaving no opportunity to outburst at Tejashwi, the JD(U) Supremo, said, "Inexperienced people are claiming to become the CM. In order to gain publicity and attention from the media, few people make bizarre statements against me. But I am concerned only with developmental works."
