'Art and cinema' fraternity unite to extend support to BJP

Artists from film fraternity gather to extend their support to the BJP party for the ongoing LS elections. A number of artists were present at the event including, The Great Khali-Wrestler, Boney Kapoor, Sapna Chaudhary, Manoj Joshi and also former FTII Chairperson, Gajendra Chauhan and Poonam Dhillon.

New Delhi: Various artists from the art and film fraternity on Sunday gathered at the BJP headquarters to demonstrate their support for the Prime minister Narendra Modi in wake of the ongoing LS elections.

Among the celebrities who attended Sunday's event were The Great Khali-Wrestler, Boney Kapoor, Sapna Chaudhary, Manoj Joshi and also former FTII Chairperson, Gajendra Chauhan and Poonam Dhillon.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Poonam Dhillon, Vice President of BJP Mumbai lauded the Modi government and appealed to the public to vote for BJP once again. She also said the film fraternity has always received support from Modi and wished that it would remain this way.

Singer Malini Awasthi termed BJP as a 'corruption-free' party which is why the country has benefitted.

Stating this as the key reason, she asserted that artists who've gathered at this event today have extended their support to the Modi government.

A number of film personalities have stepped into politics, most recent being, Sunny Deol who will be contesting from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha Constituency representing the saffron party.
