"Hindus coming to India from other countries must get Indian citizenship," the BJP MP told ETV Bharat here. He said people opposing it are "traitors".
On being asked if he was calling Bengal Chief Minister a traitor as she has been opposing National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), the BJP MP said: "anyone opposing the bill is a traitor".
Earlier in the day, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, which seeks to make it easier for non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to become citizens of India, has been cleared by the cabinet for tabling in parliament.
