New Delhi: BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar has said any Hindu living anywhere in the world should get Indian citizenship in case he/she wants to shift to India.
On being asked if he was calling Bengal Chief Minister a traitor as she has been opposing National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), the BJP MP said: "anyone opposing the bill is a traitor".
Earlier in the day, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, which seeks to make it easier for non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to become citizens of India, has been cleared by the cabinet for tabling in parliament.
