Another rape victim from Hathras succumbs to injuries, family holds protest

A minor girl, who was raped in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh 15 days ago, has died in a hospital. The family members are protesting against the administration by blocking the road.

Hathras: In yet another gruesome incident, a six-year-old girl, who was raped 15 days ago in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, died in a hospital on Monday, triggering protests by family members on Teusday in Hathras.

The girl belongs to Hathras was raped by one of her cousins brother on September 14 in Aligarh where she along with her sister living at her aunt house after her mother died in January this year.

The girl was shifted to Aligarh Medical College where doctors referred her to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital where she died during the treatment.

"Police is not listening to our demand and arrested brother of the accused who is mentally unstable. We want police should arrest the accuse at earliest and appropriate action should be taken against the SHO." Victim's father alleged.

After the death of the girl, her family and villagers protested and blocked the road outside their village in Hathras with the body of the victim as they make serious allegations against the Aligarh police. The protest took place in Jatoi village area in Kotwali Sadabad region.

The family had said that they will not cremate the body until their demands are met.

Whereas, Circle officer Brahmadev said, "I am in touch with DM and Additional SP of Aligarh has informed me that he has already suspended the inspector as per the family's demand."

Police officers reached the spot and appealed to the family members who were protesting, to cremate the body.

Hathras SP Vineet Jaiswal said, "We have convinced the family to cremate the body after which they called-off the protest."

"A case has been registered under various sections against girl's minor cousin at Iglas Police Station in Aligarh district. Accused has been arrested & produced in a Juvenile court by Aligarh Police & they are taking further action in this case," Vineet Jaiswal, SP, Hathras

Earlier, a 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by four men in Hathras on September 14. She died on September 29 at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital where she had been brought for treatment.

The chief minister on September 30 constituted a three-member SIT to probe the case and asked that the trial be conducted in a fast track court. The SIT had been asked to submit its report in seven days time.
