Passers-by rescue man from Godavari river

A man in Andhra Pradesh was rescued by passers-by after he accidentally fell into the Godavari river on Tuesday. The man identified as Ramesh is undergoing treatment in a hospital.

East Godavari (AP):A man who accidentally fell into the Godavari river was rescued by passers-by in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

Ramesh hails from Angara village in Kapileswarapuram in East Godavari district.

According to the police, Ramesh was returning home from his office when his bike ran out of fuel and he called his father for help.

While waiting on a bridge, he accidentally fell into the river, police said.

Aalamuru Head Constable Prabhakar Rao who was passing by saw the incident and asked people for the help.

A rope was thrown into the river and the young man was pulled up by passers-by who gathered to rescue him.

Later, Ramesh was sent to a hospital for treatment.
