The CRPF personnel were keeping a vigil in Anantnag, a major route for Amarnath pilgrims, on Wednesday when bike-borne Al-Umar Mujahiddin terrorists attacked them.

The attack has forced the intelligence as well as the Home Ministry officials to rethink over their counter-terrorism operations following the fact that after a few weeks Amarnath Yatra will start.

Sources in the Home Ministry said that Home Secretary Gauba will brief Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident.

"We really need to give a serious look into our security perspective," an MHA official said.
